Hong Kong
We love our hotel in Hong Kong...the Shangri La-Kowloon. It is very nice and the food has been great. The best feature though is in the elevators. When you travel overseas, you are very disoriented and confused as to what day it is....all the days seem to run together. At this hotel they change the carpet in the elevator EVERY DAY, so you never forget what day it is! The day of the week is on every carpet!!! HA HA

Yesterday, we
started out at Starbucks which was
only a short walk from our hotel. We then went to Victoria's Peak where you can see beautiful views of the Hong Kong harbour. We then took a winding roller coaster type taxi ride to the other side of the island to a place called Stanley Market. It was very touristy but we did find so
me good art paintings for our upcoming LWB auction. We took the Star Ferry back across the island to a huge shopping mall called Harbour City . This was a HUGE mall and it went on and on forever. Lunch was at the Hard Rock Cafe and then we walked along the boardwalk called the Avenue of Stars. (kind of like the Hollywood Walk of Fame). In the afternoon we went to what was supposed to be the Jade Market. Instead we took a left turn and walked through the open meat markets, where they were selling every cut of meat, live animals, HUGE fruit and vegetables and houshold items. Some cucumbers were 3 feet long and over 12 inches in diameter. It was a great experience to see how everyday people in Hong Kong shop. Our day finished off with foot massages at the hotel. I thoroughly enjoyed my foot massage and was totally relaxed after mine. On the other hand, Ashley and Cris were in the next two rooms "being tortured" as they said.....they weren't too thrilled with the experience.
Today, we leave for Nanchang. We are having a great time!
